Abstract

Organizational communication is the process of exchanging messages within an organization, whether horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, aimed at achieving organizational goals. Through organizational communication, employees can convey ideas, thoughts, and engage in discussions during meetings. There are many aspects involved in building job satisfaction. This study focuses on the organizational communication approach within the secretarial division of PT PAL Indonesia. It employs a qualitative descriptive research method to obtain in-depth research results. The theoretical framework utilized is Katherine Miller's (2015) organizational communication approach, which identifies six major approaches: classical, human relations, human resources, system, cultural, and critical. The findings of this study reveal that within the secretarial division of PT PAL Indonesia, the predominant approaches under the founding approaches are human resources and human relations. Additionally, contemporary communication approaches in this division lean towards system and cultural approaches.
