Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami penggunaan media sosial Instagram sebagai alat komunikasi dan informasi oleh Humas Sekretariat Daerah Jawa Timur. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana Instagram digunakan oleh Humas Sekretariat Daerah Jawa Timur untuk mempengaruhi interaksi antara pemerintah dan masyarakat, mengingat popularitas Instagram sebagai jejaring sosial saat ini. Penelitian ini berangkat dari pertanyaan utama: bagaimana Humas Sekretariat Daerah Jawa Timur menggunakan Instagram sebagai media komunikasi dan informasi untuk mempengaruhi interaksi dengan masyarakat? Melalui pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dan teori media baru, penelitian ini mengkaji strategi komunikasi yang diterapkan serta efektivitas penggunaan Instagram dalam konteks administrasi pemerintahan. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap pengembangan ilmu komunikasi, public relations, dan teknologi komunikasi. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Instagram tidak hanya digunakan untuk menyebarkan informasi resmi tetapi juga untuk membangun citra positif dan meningkatkan partisipasi publik. Penelitian ini memperkaya literatur tentang aplikasi media sosial dalam konteks pemerintahan dan memberikan wawasan baru terkait strategi komunikasi organisasi di era digital, sekaligus mengisi kesenjangan pengetahuan mengenai hubungan antara media sosial dan citra pemerintah.
