Abstract
This study aims to explore the perceptions of Communication Science students at Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya towards the television program "Brownis" on Trans TV. The main issue addressed is how students interpret and respond to the content of the show in the context of mass media. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, focusing on data collection through interviews with relevant informants. The collected data is then analyzed through data reduction processes to provide a clearer picture of the students' perceptions. The objective of this research is to elaborate on the perceptions of Communication Science students towards the program "Brownis" on Trans TV in a deep and systematic manner. Through a qualitative approach, the researcher seeks to understand how students interpret the messages conveyed in the show. Data presentation is systematically done through narrative texts, matrices, graphs, networks, and charts to facilitate valid qualitative analysis. A descriptive qualitative research method is used to generate descriptive data in the form of spoken and written words from the involved informants. This approach allows the researcher to obtain more specific and in-depth information about the students' perceptions of the program "Brownis" on Trans TV. Data validity is the primary focus of this research, with efforts made to ensure the validity and trustworthiness of the research findings. From the analysis of the data and presentations conducted, the researcher can conclude that the perceptions of Communication Science students at Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya towards the program "Brownis" on Trans TV tend to vary. Nevertheless, the researcher is able to provide a comprehensive overview and clear justification of the research findings. This conclusion is an integral part of the data analysis process carried out in this study.
