Abstract

Stunting is a growth and development disorder in children caused by several factors, namely poor nutrition, recurrent infections, and inadequate psychosocial stimulation. Children are considered stunted if their height compared to their age is more than two standard deviations below the median Child Growth Standard This research examines several main aspects, including the aspirations provided, community involvement, community skills in providing nutritious food intake, material participation in terms of money, goods and services and social participation provided. The research results show that community participation is good and active, but there are still several obstacles such as a lack of community participation in providing input for the stunting reduction program in the city of Surabaya. Conclusion of Society Participation in Surabaya Perwali No. 81 of 2021 Regarding the acceleration of stunting reduction in the City of Surabaya, it can be said to be quite active and good, but there are still several notes that need to be taken into account. Society participation is still needed to optimize stunting reduction in the city of Surabaya. The idea indicators show that the community is still not optimal in providing their participation, the energy indicators in implementing the program, society participation are quite good, as well as the skill indicators in providing nutritious food intake, indicators for providing financial and material assistance, as well as social indicators. The suggestion from this research is that the society should be able to take part in the discussion forums or consultations held, convey aspirations, ideas and input on how to increase the effectiveness of stunting reduction programs in order to achieve zero stunting in the city of Surabaya, and the community will become more active in health programs. which have been organized by the City Health Office and Community Health Centers, such as posyandu, nutrition education, and programs to improve maternal and child health. Take advantage of this opportunity to obtain useful health information and services.
