Abstract

Problems related to drug cases which are increasing here continue to increase quite significantly and continue to spread from region to region, including in the city of Mojokerto, where geographically the city of Mojokerto has the smallest area in East Java, even in Indonesia. With an area of only 16.47 km2, the City of Mojokerto is a city with a fairly high population density, so that in the City of Mojokerto the problem of drug abuse continues to be found today, users regardless of age, social status, and targeting various levels of society. This occurs due to environmental factors, friendships, family, and where drugs are available, and could also be due to a lack of education regarding the impacts and dangers of drug abuse. Based on this background, this research aims to determine the public relations communication strategy of the Mojokerto City National Narcotics Agency (BNN) in an effort to prevent drug abuse among teenagers in Mojokerto City. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a case study type of research, then in this research uses 4 PR communication models from James E. Grunig & Todd Hunt. Then the results of this research revealed that Mojokerto City BNN public relations used public relations communication strategies in an effort to prevent drug abuse among teenagers in Mojokerto City by creating various work programs tailored to their needs, namely, 1) Communication Strategy Using Outdoor Media, 2) Communication Strategy Using Branding, 3) Communication Strategy Using Social Media, 4) Communication Strategy Using Socialization, 5) Communication Strategy Using the Formation of Youth Anti-Narcotics Peers Using "Dialogue" Activities Teen Interactive"
