Abstract
Korean drama is a fictional story that portrays the lives of Korean people, produced by South Koreans and aired on Korean television. Based on the reality of drama as a concept that focuses more on performing arts than on literature, drama is known as a story or imitation of human behavior that is staged (Hassanudin, 2020). "Celebrity" is a K-drama series that tells the story of Generation Z who are users of the Instagram platform. An important aspect of this drama is how celebrities make the culture of Instagramming popular among Generation Z, as represented in the drama. The main objective of this study is to explore the representation of Instagram use in this drama among Generation Z. This research employs a qualitative approach through textual analysis. The data obtained includes scenes from the drama, which are analyzed using Alan McKee's textual analysis technique. The concept of Instagram control as represented in the drama uses text, cultural and symbolic interaction theory as the research tool, aiming to explore the representation of Instagram use among Generation Z in the drama. This study shows the influence of the culture or habit of using Instagram in shaping the lives of Generation Z. The research results are as follows: Instagram users among Generation Z in the K-drama series "Celebrity" are represented as a culture of Instagramming in South Korea that prioritizes social hierarchy.
