Abstract

Provinsi Jawa Timur kaya akan kesenian dan budaya, setiap daerah di Jawa Timur memiliki keanekaragaman budaya yang melimpah di setiap daerahnya. Kabupaten Nganjuk secara geografi terletak 60 m dari permukaan laut dan berada ditengah-tengah dua pergunungan yaitu gunung wilis dan gunung pandan, serta dilalui oleh dua aliran sungai yaitu sungai widas dan sungai brantas. Kabupaten Nganjuk memiliki kesenian daerah yang cukup banyak antara lain : (1) Upacara siraman di air terjun sedudo pada malam satu suro (2) Tradisi bersih desa/Nyadranan (3) Tayub (4) Tari Mongdhe, Tari Salepuk, Sandur (5) Seni Jaranan (6) Wayang Timplong. Dengan banyaknya Kesenian Daerah di Kabupaten Nganjuk, Kabupaten Nganjuk sendiri belum memiliki fasilitas yang mewadahi pelestarian kesenian, sehingga membuat keterbatasan bagi para seniman untuk berekspresi. Dengan kurangnya fasilitas kesenian ini juga membuat masyarakat sulit mengenal dan mengembangkan kesenian daerah. Ditambah dengan kemajuan zaman dan teknologi membuat kesenian daerah kurang diminati.
