Abstract

PT Benteng Api Technic is a company that manufactures Fire Brick, Fire Cement and Refractory Materials. Its main products are Fire Stones, High Alumina Bricks, Refractive Mortars, Castable Refractors, Gunning Castables, etc. In the production process of the SK-34 Fire-resistant Bata, two types of machines are used: Manual Press Machine and Haloong Automatic Machine. The problem with this company is that the Haloong Machine often performs improvements at the time of production and the results achived have not met the Company’s target of 2500 pieces of bricks one day. The application of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness method can be calculated by measuring the values of availability, performance, and quality of a machine and also analyze the highest factor that occurs using Six Big Losses. If the OEE value is less than 85% then a repair is needed because it does not meet the international OEE standard. After doing this research, the result of the average value on the calculation on OEE in the month of August 2023 – January 2024 is 62% where the value belongs to the medium category but needs to be improved. The highest loss in a 6 month period was caused by Idling and Minor Stoppages with a total time 5598 minutes.
