Abstract

Kota Surabaya dikenal sebagai “Kota Pahlawan” dengan sejarah perjuangan yang panjang. Salah satunya adalah kisah heroik rakyat Surabaya pada 10 November 1945. Pada masa ini, para pejuang dengan gagah berani melawan penjajah hanya dengan bambu tajam dalam memperjuangkan kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia. Dan hal itu diabadikan sebagai peringatan Hari Pahlawan. Jembatan Merah Plaza (JMP) merupakan pusat perdagangan grosir yang berbasis garmen dan textile yang ada sejak lama di Kawasan jembatan merah Surabaya. Jembatan Merah Plaza (JMP) berada dalam satu kawasan wisata kota lama Surabaya yang bisa menjadi suatu citra kota dan bisa di kembangkan ke depannya sesuai dengan rencana rencana pemerintah kota Surabaya. Citra suatu kota atau lanskap kota merupakan kesan fisik yang menjadi ciri khas suatu kota. Dalam perencanaan kota, lanskap kota berfungsi sebagai elemen pembentuk identitas dan memberikan kontribusi terhadap daya tarik suatu kota. Penelitian ini di lakukan dengan cara metode deskriptif kualitatis yang di lakukan secara observasi secara langsung di lokasi, dan studi literatur untuk penunjang teori yang ada. Kemudian nantinya dapat mengkaji secara spesifik dalam penerapan teori citra kota pada Jembatan Merah Plaza (JMP). Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang di dapat, teori citra kota pada Jembatan Merah Plaza (JMP) di terapkan dengan baik sehingga Jembatan Merah Plaza (JMP) menjadi salah satu bangunan ikonik dengan latar belakang sejarah yang heroic di kota Kota Surabaya khususnya wilayah Surabaya Utara.
