Abstract

Alongside the increasing potential of the agriculture and plantation sectors in Minggirsari Village, Blitar Regency, there are concerns among farmers about the diminishing supply of fertilizers, both subsidized and non-subsidized chemical fertilizers. However, these concerns have been addressed with the creation of an automatic anaerobic bioreactor by Nawang Sonia in 2023. This device can shorten the fermentation process time from the initial 14-21 days to just 3-5 days. The designed tool was found to have some weaknesses that hindered its functionality, necessitating a redesign. The redesign was carried out using the Quality Function Deployment method by distributing questionnaires to users, considering the existing weaknesses of the device. The resulting House of Quality outlined 8 features as the concept for the redesign. One of the added features is the ability to read temperatures up to 70°C for the pasteurization process. With this feature, users do not need to divide into several batches for pasteurization, saving 1.75 hours of time. Additionally, there are 7 other features that support the device's functionality. As a result, the device is more optimal, reliable, and effective compared to the previous anaerobic bioreactor design.
