Abstract

UD. Terik Surya is an industry that produces raw crackers. The types of crackers produced are rose crackers and manggar crackers. In the production process of making crackers, there were several obstacles, including in the process of cutting Manggar crackers, the worker's body posture when cutting was not as ergonomic as it should be. The cutting process still tends to take a long time, carried out from 16.00 to 20.00, on average 400 kg of manggar crackers can be cut per day. There were only 3 blades on this tool and they were rusty so they couldn't cut much and the crackers weren't cut perfectly. Judging from this problem, a redesign was carried out according to anthropometry. And a comparison of improvements in body posture before and after redesign using the REBA method. The redesign of the manggar cracker cutting tool adds parts that hinder the cutting process, namely, the blade, plate and handle. The average number of pieces before the redesign was 14.2 kg in 11.9 minutes. Meanwhile, when the redesign was carried out, the cutting capacity of the tool increased to 20.2 kg in the same time, namely 11.9 minutes. The tool capacity increased by 6 Kg or 42% from the results before the redesign. The worker's body posture before being redesigned using the REBA method had a score of 9, which means there is a high risk that body posture needs to be corrected. After improving the posture, the body has a score of 3, which means low risk.
