Abstract
Penulis melakukan penelitian terhadap PT. SPIL (Salam Pacific Indonesia Lines) yang terletak di divisi workshop peti kemas (container) bagian pemotongan plat. Untuk tujuan menentukan keuntungan yang akan diperoleh dari investasi mesin, membutuhkan penggunaan teknik yang dikenal sebagai analisis keuangan. Perhitungan yang digunakan termasuk mencari metodologi seperti Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period (PBP), Profitability Index (PI), Straight Line Depreciation (SLD). Berdasarkan perhitungan diatas bahwa NPV sebesar Rp 33.324.768 layak untuk dilakukan sebuah investasi. Hal ini dibuktikan dari kriteria penerimaan investasi dari metode NPV yaitu hasil perhitungannya menunjukkan positif maka investasi tersebut layak untuk dilakukan. Dari perhitungan IRR diatas dapat disimpulkan bahwa besar nilai IRR 43,27% yang berarti nilainya lebih besar dibandingkan dengan nilai suku bunga awal yaitu 40%, payback period dana yang digunakan sebagai investasi pembelian mesin cutting plasma dapat diperoleh kembali dalam waktu 1,70 tahun atau 1 tahun 7 bulan, hasil dari perhitungan tersebut lebih pendek daripada umur ekonomis mesin yaitu 4 tahun sehingga investasi ini layak untuk dilakukan. Dapat dilihat pada perhitungan Profitability Index didapatkan nilai 2,35 dimana kriterianya PI > 1 yang artinya investasi mesin cutting plasma untuk memenuhi produksi crossmember layak untuk dilakukan. Dengan demikian, hasil perhitungan tersebut layak maka dapat dilanjutkan untuk melakukan investasi mesin cutting plasma.
