Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationships between collectivist cultural values and assertive behavior of Z generation in Banyuwangi Regency. This study method uses quantitative research. The population in this study were Banyuwangi regency aged 10-24 years, totaling 378,654 people. Participants in the study amounted to 272 people referring to the krejcie table with a confidence level of 90%. Participants taken with purposive sampling technique. Data collection instruments are cultural collectivism and assertive behavior scale. The data analysis technique used is pearson product moment correlation. Based on the results of data analysis conducted, the results of a correlation test between cultural collectivism and assertive behavior were 0.951 with a significance of p = 0.000 (p <0.01), which indicates that there is a positive and very significant relationship between cultural collectivism and assertive behavior of Z generation in Banyuwangi. In conclusion, the higher the cultural collectivism possessed by Z generation, the higher the assertive behavior of Z generation. Conversely, the lower the cultural collectivism of Z generation, the lower the assertive behavior.
