Abstract
In the context of economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic, acceleration is needed to strengthen sustainable competitive advantages in SMEs. This study aims to analyze the influence of knowledge-oriented leadership, digital transformation, and human resource development on sustainable competitive advantages through the mediation of innovative behavior and organizational innovation on micro and small enterprises of Tourism Villages in East Java Province. The research design uses explanatory research. The population is micro and small businesses registered with the Office of Cooperatives and SMEs of the handicraft industry classification, which has had a business period of more than 5 years, totaling 1928 business units, they are spread across several sectors of the handicraft industry, namely clay, metal, wood/bamboo, used goods, stones, and natural fibers. The sampling technique that will be used is proportional random sampling. The sample size is as many as 400 business units. Data analysis techniques use Structural Equation Modeling. The results showed that (1) knowledge-oriented leadership has a positive and significant effect on innovative behavior, (2) knowledge-oriented leadership has an insignificant effect on sustainable competitive advantage, (3) digital transformation has a positive and significant effect on innovative behavior, (4) digital transformation has a positive and significant effect on sustainable competitive advantage, (5) human resource development has an effect positive and significant to sustainable competitive advantage, (6) human resource development has an insignificant effect on sustainable competitive advantage, (7) innovative behavior has a positive and significant effect on organizational innovation, and (8) organizational innovation has a positive and significant effect on sustainable competitive advantage.
