Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between husband's support and knowledge about childbirth and anxiety about handling primigravida childbirth. The hypothesis proposed in this research is that there is a relationship between husband's support and knowledge about childbirth and anxiety about facing primigravida childbirth. This means that the higher the husband's support and the better the knowledge, the lower the anxiety in handling primigravida birth. The participant collection technique used in this research was purposive sampling. The criteria for being used as research participants were being pregnant for the first time (primigravida) with a gestational age of 28-42 weeks and having their pregnancy checked and routinely carried out at the Bakunase Health Center, Kupang City, totaling 102 people who were willing. The data collection method in this research used the Likert scale and Guttman scale. Results of data analysis using Multiple Linear Regression Analysis in the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 25 program. Based on the results of acquisition calculations that husband's support and knowledge together have a very significant relationship with anxiety about handling primigravida childbirth, these results indicate that the researcher's hypothesis is proven. The higher the husband's support and the better the knowledge, the lower the understanding in dealing with primigravida childbirth.
