Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social support and anxiety in facing the release period of criminals in class II B detention center in Sumenep. This research is a quantitative research and uses correlational research techniques using the Spearman's Rho correlation technique using SPSS assistance. The normality test in this study used the One Sample Kolmogorov Smirnov test using SPSS, the results obtained were singnificasinsi (p) = 0.200 and the data were normally distributed. Linearity test on this research variable obtained significance (P) = 0.033, the data is not linearly distributed. Based on these results the data in this study did not meet the prerequisite test in the assumption test so that the Hypothesis test data using the Spearman Rhow Non-parametric correlation technique obtained p = -0.516 with sig = 0.000. Based on the research results, the social support obtained by inmates is related to the level of anxiety facing the release period of inmates at the Class II B Correctional Institution in Sumenep. Based on these results, it means that there is a relationship between the social support variable and the anxiety variable. The correlation that occurs is negative, meaning that if the independent variable (social support) increases it will be accompanied by a decrease in the dependent variable (anxiety). For inmates, getting support from the closest people around them is very important to reduce anxiety. Prisoners who do not get low social support have a high level of anxiety in facing a high period of release.
