Abstract
Along with the development of development in Indonesia and advances in existing technology, concrete has undergone changes with various research findings regarding additional materials or concrete mixtures that are used to increase the compressive strength of concrete so as to reduce the use of cement. To produce flowable concrete, it is necessary to use a superplasticizer so that the cement particles can be suspended evenly and separated into fine particles in the concrete mixture. One of the materials that can be used as an additional material in making concrete is coconut fiber ash. The addition of coconut fiber ash which has pozzolanic properties which can minimize pores in cement paste, close the space between particles, alumina, silica and calcium can speed up the cement's ability to bind because it can react with lime and water to produce the element Silica Oxide. For this reason, research was carried out to utilize coconut fiber ash as a useful material as a substitute for cement in concrete mixtures. Based on the research results, it shows that the addition of coconut fiber ash with a percentage of 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10% with a mixture of addictive ingredients in the form of superplasticizer ViscoCrete® - 3115N is 1.5%. The coconut fiber ash test object used acts as an additive in the optimum concrete mixture. The sample used was a 15 x 30 cm cylinder for testing the compressive strength of coconut fiber ash at the age of 7 days, 14 days and 28 days. The results of research tests show that with the addition of coconut fiber ash, the compressive strength of the concrete experiences instability, namely fluctuating at mixture percentages of 2.5% and 5%, while at percentages of 7.5% and 10% it tends to decrease compared to normal concrete.
