Abstract
PT Surya Multi Indopack is a company that produces flexible packaging which in the last three years has experienced higher customer demand as the number of customers increases, from product demand purchase data by customers increases by 30-45%, but the capacity of the number of slitter machines in the company is limited so that it has an impact on the accumulation of semi-finished goods material on the Work In Process shelf And the delay in the schedule of product delivery to several customers, therefore to overcome this problem the company plans to purchase a slitter machine by considering aspects and several research methods so that the investment provides profitable opportunities for the company. The results of data analysis and data calculations in accordance with investment appraisal criteria show that straight-line depreciation results in the amount of depreciation value each year which is Rp. 190,000,000 during the economic life of 10 years with a machine residual value of Rp. 500,000,000. The net present value is known that the result is positive at Rp. 28,624,696,627 > 0, The calculation of the payback period shows that the investment is taken within 1 year 4 months where the result is shorter than the economic life of the machine which is 10 years, the profitability index shows a value of 12.9 where the value is greater than 1, then the value of the internal rate of return shows a result of 24.23%, which means that the IRR result is greater than the value of MARR with a value of 12.75, IRR > MARR, so from all aspects and criteria of investment appraisal, the investment plan for the purchase of this machine can be said to be profitable and very feasible.
