Abstract

This research aims to identify news about the Police Hedon Lifestyle in two online media, namely Kompas.com and Detik.com, September 7-8 2023 edition. Through Robert Entman's 4 Framing stages which consist of: Define Problem, Diagnose Causes, Make Moral Judgment and Treatment Recommendations. This research uses the framing analysis method by Robert N. Entman through a qualitative approach. Researchers analyzed two reports by the media Kompas.com and Detik.com regarding the Hedon Police Lifestyle. The research results show that the Define Problem and Diagnose Causes in both media have similarities in that the media Kompas.com and Detik.com both convey a fact that focuses on the issue of a Police Wife with the rank of Brigadier with a Hedonistic Lifestyle. The differences between the two media can be seen in Detik.com media's Make Moral Judgment, which emphasizes the statement of high-ranking police officials that a Bripka cannot foster a wife who is a Bhayangkari member. Meanwhile, Kompas.com emphasizes an apology from both parties between the police wife and the intern student's mother regarding the case of arrogance towards the intern student. The Treatment Recommendation offered by Detik.com, Police Bripka Nuril, is still undergoing examination without a trial decision, whereas Kompas.com ended with the removal of Bripka Nuril, saying that he had been transferred to Probolinggo Police staff.
