Abstract

Entrepreneurship or Entrepreneurship is often discussed by many circles. At present Indonesia is still lagging behind in economic problems due to low economic growth, high number of unemployed, poverty, and income inequality. Entrepreneurship that arises in families or community groups is a very valuable asset for anyone. Even for the Indonesian nation as a whole, entrepreneurial activities will help the Indonesian economy and prosper the people. Business opportunities are basically very many, but it really depends on ideas, innovation and people's ability to read business opportunities. The ability of our community is still low in opening a business, this is due to the ability in entrepreneurial knowledge that is still not deeply understood by our society. This is shown by the initial survey of researchers who should Entrepreneurial abilities possessed by business actors should theoretically affect business results. But this is not the case. The use of social media should be able to encourage the business marketing process carried out by business actors, but the reality in the field is very minimal role of social media on business success. Based on the things mentioned above, researchers are interested in conducting a study entitled "THE INFLUENCE OF ENTREPRENEURIAL ABILITY AND SOCIAL MEDIA ON BUSINESS SUCCESS", IN THE Nginden Jangkungan sub-district area of Surabaya city. This study used quantitative research methods. The sample used in this study was 28 respondents as business actors providing loundry services in the Ngiden Jangkungan sub-district area of Surabaya. Using the non-probability sampling method with the Purposive Sampling technique. Data collection method using questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used in this study are classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression tests and hypothesis tests. The results of this study showed that first, partially the value of t count > t table (2.690) > 1.706) and a significant level of 0.012 < 0.05. Thus showing that entrepreneurial ability has a significant effect on business success. Second, partially the value of t is calculated > t table (2.412 > 1.706) and a significant level of 0.018 < 0.05. Thus showing that social media has a significant effect on business success. Then, from the results of the calculated F value of 11,973 > F table of 3.38 and significant of 0.000, it shows that entrepreneurial ability and social media, have a significant effect together (simultaneously) on the success of laundry service provider entrepreneurs in the Nginden Jangkungan sub-district area of Surabaya city. Therefore, entrepreneurs must always follow technological developments in marketing their products, conduct research to consumers to meet their needs, come up with new ideas, service innovations and risk guarantees and always give a positive reaction to all changes in consumer demand in order to improve the quality and quantity of marketing performance.
