Abstract

Film is a form of mass media that educates and entertains by conveying stories, events, music, drama, comedy and other elements to the general public. This research aims to analyze the moral message in the film “Lara Ati” by Bayu Skak which, apart from exploring romance, also tells about the journey of a 25 year old man facing the challenges of his work and romantic relationships. Through a qualitative approach, data was collected using documentation and observation, then analyzed using Roland Barthes’ semiotics. Triangulation techniques were used to validate the data. The results of the research show that the moral messages in “Lara Ati” include strengthening spritual relationships with God, key responsibilities in building trust, working hard to achieve goals, the importance of building self�confidence, self-control in preventing conflict, respecting the work of others can motivating to continue working, polite behavior in relationships. The film as a whole supports societal myths, but challenges common views through scenes of hard work
