Abstract

Film is used as a medium for filmmakers to actualize various ideas, thoughts and creativity into audio and visual works. The film "Dear David" is an example of a medium for filmmakers to convey ideas that address social issues, namely teenage sexual fantasies. And through this film the filmmakers want to convey that teenage sexual fantasies are normal, from here the researcher is interested in constructing the representation of sexual fantasies in the film Dear David using qualitative research methods with a narrative analysis structure Tzevetan Todorov who looks at the film from the initial plot, middle plot and final plot, and uses Stuart Hall's representational communication theory. The results of this research show that the film "Dear David" can represent adolescent sexual fantasies, in the form of a representation of women's lack of freedom in expression, a representation of a woman's resistance and leadership in terms of sexuality, a representation of a woman's satisfaction in using sexual tools and a representation of the beginning of a new love story. . It is hoped that this research can provide additional information regarding adolescent sexual fantasies represented in the film "Dear David" and that further research can further develop various aspects and other analytical methods.
