Abstract

Proper drug storage supervision is very important to ensure the safety and quality of drugs consumed by patients. According to GMP, some pharmaceutical products (drugs) must be stored in a state of temperature, humidity to prevent and reduce the risk of drug degradation which will damage the quality of the drug. Room temperature is an important factor to maintain the stability and quality of stored drugs. Room temperature control is required for drugs that are stored for a certain period of time so that they still meet the requirements until the product reaches the consumer. One of its uses is to connect it to internet technology through the Internet of Thing (IoT) approach. This research involves the main components of hardware design and implementation as well as software development. ESP32 is used as a control center that receives data generated from the DHT11 sensor. The purpose of this research is to create and design a monitoring system that will simultaneously provide special notifications when the temperature and humidity of the drug storage room do not meet predetermined standards. Monitoring the temperature and humidity of the drug storage room according to the Pharmacopoeia Edition VI standardization does not exceed 25⁰C at room temperature and the humidity level does not exceed 70%. This system also makes it easy for users to access information in real time through a web�based application and can adjust the temperature according to specified criteria. With the existence of this proposed drug storage monitoring system, it is hoped that this research can increase efficiency and reliability in guaranteeing the quality and safety of stored drugs.
