Abstract

The research conducted aims to determine the relationship between self efficacy and academic problem solving abilities in students. The hypothesis put forward is that there is a positive relationship between self efficacy and the ability to solve problems in students. The higher the level of self efficacy, the greater the problem solving ability. This research project uses quantitative research methods. The study was conducted on 103 psychology student participants at the University of August 17, 1945. The instruments chosen in this study were a problem solving ability scale based, a self efficacy scale based. The data was then analyzed using the Product Moment analysis technique with SPSS 22 for Windows. Based on the results of the research data analysis conducted, the results of a simple correlation test between selfefficacy and problem solving skills were 0.748 with a significance p = 0.000 (p <0.05) which also means that there is a positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and skills. solution to problem. The hypothesis is accepted when this study shows that increasing self efficacy is closely related to students' academic problem solving abilities. The higher the self efficacy, the higher the ability to solve academic problems and vice versa.
