Abstract
Family planning program is a national development program established to control population growth, limit birth rates, regulate birth spacing, create healthy and prosperous families and is expected to reduce maternal mortality and infant mortality. Many factors influence the decision to use postpartum family planning. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between patriarchal culture and marital communication with the decision making of mothers to use family planning after delivery. The subjects of this study were 51 postpartum mothers who were at the Jaddih Health Center, Aisyah Ahmad's Independent Midwife Practice, Masrufah’s Independent Midwife Practice and Siti Lukluk’s Independent Midwife Practice. The method in this study used multiple regression analysis with SPSS version 21 for windows. Based on the SPSS results, the results obtained were that, and partially there was a relationship between patriarchal culture with the mother's decision to use postpartum family planning, but there is no relationship between marital communication and the mother's decision to use postpartum family planning.
