Abstract

Tilapia is one of the fisheries commodities that is very popular with people in Indonesia. Tilapia is an alternative to animal protein consumed by various groups of people. This study aims to determine the feasibility of cultivating tilapia using earthen pond media from technical and marketing aspects, and to find out whether tilapia aquaculture using earthen pond media is feasible/not cultivated based on financial aspect criteria. This research was conducted in Cukir Village, Diwek District, Jombang Regency from April to May 2023. The method used was descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The results of this study seen from the technical aspects of the tilapia cultivation process were carried out in several stages. The first stage carried out is the stage of preparing the pond to be used as a place for tilapia seeds, followed by filling water, spreading the seeds, to the harvesting process. Marketing aspects consisting of demand and supply, pricing, and marketing channels. The demand for tilapia is quite high, some consumers come directly to the tilapia cultivation business to buy the fish that has been prepared. The price for tilapia fish is in accordance with the costs incurred by the owner of the tilapia fish farming business, which is IDR 19.000/kg. The marketing channel in this business only passes through one hand, namely from cultivators directly to consumers. Meanwhile, from the financial aspect in this business, the required amount of capital is an average of IDR 13.730.000, the average cost incurred is IDR 13,730,000/year, the average total income is IDR 38.000.000, the average profit obtained IDR 24.271.800, the average ROI obtained is 8,61%/year, and the average Net B/C obtained is more than 0. Thus it can be concluded that tilapia aquaculture is feasible to run. Keywords: Business Feasibility, Tilapia Cultivation, Technical Aspect, Marketing Aspect, Financial Aspect.
