Abstract

On numerous occasions, the domestic sector encounters difficulties in handling the procurement of suitable primary resources in order to prevent unnecessary expenses and hinder the manufacturing procedure. Nevertheless, there exists a solution to tackle this issue by implementing an efficient policy for managing inventory expenses. One approach that can be utilized is "Economic Order Quantity" (EOQ) which can effectively minimize inventory costs. By implementing EOQ, domestic industries can refrain from excessive acquisitions and uphold a seamless production process without compromising on efficiency and efficacy. This study was carried out by utilizing quantitative descriptive methods such as scrutiny and discussion with Mr. Agus from Tempeh Home Industry. The investigators subsequently juxtaposed the strategies executed in local businesses with the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) approach. The findings of this evaluation indicate that the strategy of procuring primary resources for the Domestic Manufacturing sector is deemed inefficient. The expenses for storing materials in Mr. Agus's Tempe Home Industry reached Rp 2,834,915, whereas by implementing the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) approach, the expenses would be reduced to Rp. 1,683,092.47. Through the adoption of the EOQ approach, Mr. Agus's Tempe Home Industry succeeded in attaining savings amounting to Rp. 1,151,822.53. Such savings are achieved by optimizing purchase quantity through the EOQ method, which minimizes total inventory costs. Thus, the Home Industry is able to adjust the number of raw material orders to production needs, so that cost efficiency can be achieved. Keywords : Material Quality Management, EOQ Model.
