Abstract
Metal is often used in industry as a raw material for production. Therefore, heat treatment and testing are required to increase the strength and hardness of steel. To carry out this research, prepare SUP 9 material then form specimens for tensile, rockwell hardness, and micro tests. The specimen will be heat treated is carried out at temperatures of 700°C, 850°C and 900°C with air, water, and oil temperature cooling media. After that do the tensile test, rockwell hardness, and micro.. With these data the results of the Tensile test and the results of the Rockwell hardness test show that the results are directly proportional to the hardness value and the maximum tensile strength value. Likewise with the grain size in the micro observation data, the larger the grain size, the lower the hardness. It can be concluded that the highest value of maximum tensile strength was obtained by specimens with a temperature variation of 900°C using water cooling media with an average tensile strength value of 112.60 kg/
