Abstract

Self-presentation is closely tied to human daily life. It is done to create a certain impression of oneself in the eyes of others, by wearing certain things and behaving in a way that they want to show to others. When viewed as a whole, selfpresentation is often done by women, especially single women, due to the social pressure they receive from the surrounding community. Therefore, women compete to find the best partner for themselves. With the rapid development of technology, the process of finding a partner has become more diverse, one of which is the emergence of the online dating application Bumble. The presence of the online dating application Bumble makes it easier for people to find a partner, as they can search for a partner according to their desired criteria. The methodology used in this study is qualitative descriptive with a virtual ethnography approach. In terms of theory, it utilizes Erving Goffman's dramaturgy theory as the main theory and symbolic interactionism theory as the supporting theory. The results obtained from this study suggest that the older a woman is, the higher the level of dramaturgy she engages in as a result of the social pressure she receives. The conclusion drawn from this research is that there are factors such as social pressure, social environment influence, the need for a partner, and application features that lead women to use online dating applications and engage in self-presentation with dramaturgy on the Bumble app. Keywords: Women's Self-Presentation, Online Dating Application, Dramaturgy.
