Abstract

There are not many environmental activists in Indonesia. The existence of environmental activists aims to help increase public awareness of the environment. One of the environmental activists in Indonesia who is still active and exists today is Ecoton. Ecoton is an institution that cares about the environment, especially rivers. Ecoton was founded in 2000 until now. Researchers intend to conduct research on Ecoton because they want to know how Ecoton's Public Relations Strategy maintains its existence in society. The method used in this study is a Qualitative Approach Method with a descriptive-case study type of research. The theory used is the Theory of Four Steps of Public Relations Cutlip, Center and Broom. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, documentation and in-depth interviews. Adaptation of data analysis techniques with data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that Ecoton's Public Relations Strategy in Maintaining Its Existence is implementing the four steps of Public Relations, namely by conducting fact-finding about Ecoton in the community, then designing a strategy, then implementing the strategies that have been planned, then evaluating it so that Ecoton knows whether the strategy is being implemented. is appropriate or not so that it can maintain the existence or existence of Ecoton in the community.
