Abstract

“Somebody“is a Crime Romance series which released on 18 Nov 2022, produced by Netflix Production and directed by Jung Ji-woo with 8 episodes and 40- 50 minutes for each episode. Tells about a woman who starts an online dating application “Somebody“, which from that application she meet a man she loves, but turns out that man is a psychopath. The researcher’s purpose is to reveal the crime which contained in Somebody the series. The researcher, in his research result seeks communications pattern or various form of crime that can be found in this series and study crime through online dating application, that depicted the series. Researcher uses John Fiske’s Realistic Semiotic, using Qualitative Research as methodology and John Fiske’s Semiotic as Analytic Technique. In this discussion and analysis using John Fiske’s Semiotic the parts and scenes which contains any form of crimes from Somebody the series will be analyzed, so that any form of crime can be discovered. In conclusion, there are crimes happening in dating online application whether it is publicly known or not, but from the research result based on Somebody the series shows that more people knows and aware of the danger and crimes from meeting with unknown stranger form dating online application.
