Abstract

Local Collection Labuan Bajo is one of the hotels in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai. As one of the accommodation services in the tourism area in an effort to attract the attention of visitors, of course there is competition between other accommodation services and one of the things that can be done by an accommodation service is to enhance the positive image of the hotel. Through this research the author wants to know the role of Public Relations of the Labuan Bajo Loccal Collection Hotel in enhancing its image and also to describe the activities carried out by the Public Relations of the Labuan Bajo Loccal Collection hotel in carrying out its functions and duties to improve its image. This study uses the theory of the role of public relations by Dozier & Broom using descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection techniques were carried out in the form of literature study, documentation, non-participant observation, and interviews with two informants and found that the Labuan Bajo Local Collection Public Relations practitioner carried out the role of Public Relations in accordance with the four Broom & Dozier concepts, namely as Expert Advisors, public relations practitioners providing advice or solutions to hotel issues, policies, and programs. However, the final decision is still made by the superiors. As a Communication Facilitator, public relations practitioners act as a liaison between the hotel and the community through various activities. This builds mutual trust between the hotel and the public. As a Problem Solving Facilitator, public relations practitioners are involved in providing suggestions or solutions in solving problems, although the main responsibility remains with the relevant department. As a Public Relations Communication Technician, he acts as a Journalist in resident. Meanwhile, the activities carried out by the Public Relations Hotel Local Collection Labuan Bajo are internal activities, external activities and also CSR.
