Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social adjustment and pet attachment with loneliness in overseas students in Surabaya. The measuring instruments used in this study are on the loneliness scale using aspects put forward by Hawkley, on the social adjustment scale using aspects put forward by Schneiders, and on the pet attachment scale using the LAPS measuring instrument put forward by Johnson, all of which are through modification of adjustments to make them more suitable in their application. The conclusion drawn from the results of research from 100 respondents obtained is that there is no relationship between social adjustment and loneliness (Sig. 0.137 p>0.05). There is a relationship between pet attachment and loneliness (Sig. 0.042 p>0.05). The third hypothesis cannot be carried out because the anareg test in this study is not fulfilled.
