Abstract

Mass media is a means used to spread messages from sources to audiences with communication aids such as newspapers, television, radio and films. Film is one of the mass media that is formed from the creative process of filmmakers who combine various elements such as ideas, value systems, worldviews, beauty, norms, human behavior, and technological sophistication. Of these elements, the film script is a vital part that needs to be considered for its quality. One of them is the use of words in clear dialogue so that it is not difficult for the characters to implement. One of the Indonesian films with the action thriller genre that will receive an award in 2022 is Stealing Raden Saleh. Based on data for 2022, the action genre is mostly screened in theaters, while thrillers are still lacking in demand. However, in the film Stealing Raden Saleh, the two genres are merged into one to produce a film full of physical action. Based on the background of the problem, the research method used is interpretive qualitative with Charles S. Peirce's semiotic analysis which divides signs into three, namely signs, objects, and sign users. The results in this study indicate that the speech language and body gestures in the scene that tells of a theft mission have the meaning of education for the community so that they do not commit criminal acts and the actions that are interrelated in it are related to social reality such as making plans in groups to achieve targets. which are desired.
