Abstract

This research was construct to know the relationship between self regulation and self-efficacy with academic procrastination in students who are active in organizations. This study uses quantitative methods to achieve research objectives. The population of this study was 1591 students at the University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya. Participants in this study were 210 students who were active in organizations. The data collection technique used in this research is incidental sampling technique. The instruments used in this research are the academic procrastination scale, the self-regulation scale, and the self-efficacy scale. In the process of data analysis in this study, the technique used is the Bayesian regression method. This Bayesian method is a regression analysis that is carried out by calculating the Bayes factor as a statistical test. This Bayesian approach is able to measure the strength of the evidence that supports the alternative hypothesis so that the resulting value is more significant and precise. The results of the regression data analysis between self-regulation and academic procrastination obtained a significant score BF10 = 1.251 (BF10 ≥ 1.00). That is, self-regulation can be a significant predictor of academic procrastination. Furthermore, between self-efficacy and academic procrastination obtained a significant score BF10 = 0.000 (BF10 ≤ 1.00). That is, self-efficacy cannot be a significant predictor of academic procrastination. And finally the results of data analysis of self regulation and self-efficacy with procrastination obtained a significant score of BF10 = 1.000 (BF10 ≥ 1.00), it can be stated that self-regulation and self efficacy can be significant predictors of academic procrastination.
