Abstract

This study examines the Indonesian version of the movie Miracle in Cell No. 7 in an effort to understand how viewers, particularly those with familial impairments, interpret the autistic behavior depicted in the movie. This study makes use of Stuart Hall's acceptance theory analysis, which divides priorities into three categories: domination, negotiation, and opposition. Qualitative research methodology is employed. This study focused on people with familial impairments and used the Indonesian version of the movie Miracle in Cell No.7 as its topic. With an emphasis on the autistic behavior depicted in the Indonesian version of the movie Miracle in Cell No. 7, the study was conducted by looking at the audience's reactions. According to the study's findings, the three research informants are in a position of dominance and get all of the signals that are sent in the movie's portrayal of an autistic person. In the meantime, no elements are present in the negotiating or opposing stances. The author's analysis's findings do not suggest that the participants are in such situation.
