Abstract

Congestion is one of the problems that occur in big cities including the city of Surabaya. The occurrence of traffic jams is due to the accumulation of vehicle volume that is not proportional to the capacity of the highway sections. namely the presence of a backlog of vehicles that causes a traffic jam on a highway section. One of the causes of congestion that occurs on Jalan Raya Gunung Sari, Surabaya City. for the Side Barriers (KHS) class on Jalan Raya Gunungsari, the city of Surabaya is divided into 2, namely directions A and B, for direction A the busiest day was found, namely Sunday at 15.00-16.00 with a total of 174.3 incidents and for direction B the lowest day busiest on Sunday at 15.00-16.00 with a total incident of 188.3. on the Jalan Raya Gunungsari Surabaya section, it is categorized as a Low (R) side friction class. for the calculation of traffic volume for the Gunungsari Surabaya highway section for direction A Monday at 08.15-09.15 is 2793.65 Cur/hour, and for direction B Monday at 08.15-09.15 is 2719.4 Cur/hour. for the calculation results of the road capacity for direction A and direction B the results are the same because the road type on the Jalan Raya Gunungsari section of the city of Surabaya is 4/2T so the calculation results for direction A are found to be 3457.08 Skr/hour, and for direction B which is 3457, 08 cur/hour. for the results of the free flow speed analysis that occurs on Jalan Gunungsari Surabaya, it is divided into 2, namely direction A and direction B and for the results of the two directions the results are the same because the road is type 4/2T, for direction A light vehicles (KR): 61 km/ hours, for heavy vehicles (KB): 54 km/hour, motorbikes (SM): 51 km/hour. For an average of all vehicles: 59 km / hour. And for direction B light vehicles (KR): 61 km/hour, for heavy vehicles (KB): 54 km/hour, Motorcycles (SM): 51 km/hour, For an average of all vehicles: 59 km/hour. For the value of the degree of saturation that occurs on the Gunungsari Surabaya highway section for direction A, it is equal to 0.81 while for direction B, it is concluded to be 0.79.
