Abstract
Majas Sindiran yang terdapat pada novel merupakan suatu media untuk mengungkapkan perasaan pengarang ke dalam karya sastra dengan media novel yang menggunakan gaya bahasa tertentu, begitupula di novel Wagahaiwa Neko de Aru karya Natsume Soseki, sarat akan kritik sosial yang banyak menggunakan majas sindiran dalam bentuk teks, narasi ataupun dialog. Kritik sosial susah untuk dipisahkan dengan konteks sebuah sindiran, Natsume Soseki dalam hal ini mengemas kritik sosial melalui majas sindiran yang digunakan olehnya melalui novel, menjadikan setiap teks, narasi maupun dialog dalam novel Wagahaiwa Neko de Aru yang kental dengan kritik sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi 5 majas sindiran yang terkandung dalam novel, serta membuat klasifikasi tiap jenis-jenis majas sindiran ke dalam sub klasifikasi majas yang telah diidentifikasi. Data berupa teks narasi dan dialog pada novel Wagahaiwa Neko de Aru karya Natsume Soseki yang menggambarkan majas sindiran yang diperoleh dari novel berjudul Wagahaiwa Neko de Aru karya Natsume Soseki. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan stilistika. Hasil penelitian menghasilkan 441 majas sindiran yang juga dibagi ke 5 jenis majas sindiran yang terklasifikasi menjadi : majas ironi sebanyak 108 data majas dengan sub klasifikasi berlawanan makna; ketidaksesuaian kenyataan; bahasa yang elegan; menghasilkan kelucuan, kesedihan, kengerian, sekaligus kepedulian; untuk klasifikasi kedua yaitu, majas sinisme sebanyak 88 data : langsung menyakiti dengan ejekan; makian, dan hinaan; Menilai tindakan; Ejekan namun bermaksud baik dan tulus; ada juga klasifikasi majas sarkasme sebanyak 79 data : Hinaan dengan menyinggung; rasa kesal dalam konteks humor; konotasi negatif; majas satire sebanyak 100 data dengan sub klasifikasi : parodi untuk menertawakan gagasan, kebiasaan, keputusan, perbuatan dan lainnya; penolakan melalui kritik; cemooh terhadap suatu hal; dan terakhir majas innuendo sebanyak 66 data : mengecilkan fakta; merendah dari makna sesungguhnya; Pesimis dan putus asa.
