Abstract
Self Development is an issue that has attracted the attention of the public lately and has become important to discuss because it has a significant influence on the internal side such as psychological and emotional conditions as well as the external side of the individual which includes the social sphere where the two aspects themselves ultimately affect a person in terms of thinking, behaving and interacting with others. The pattern of thinking that affects individuals in the context of self development can actually lead to various aspects, for example regarding finance, finance itself is a fairly sensitive issue and can shape a person's personality based on the amount of funds owned. Reflecting on the structure of Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory, self-development and finance are included in basic needs, if basic needs are not met, other needs cannot be met. Satu Persen briefly through a 10 to 25 minutes video show educates its followers, especially generation Z regarding financial management through a YouTube channel with the topic of Financial Psychology. This study seeks to know the reception by six informants, namely Communication Science Students at the University of August 17 1945 Surabaya regarding the Financial Psychology video show on the Satu Persen YouTube channel, for this reason the research method used is Stuart Hall's reception analysis. The results showed that there were three types of active audiences according to Stuart Hall in this study including Hegemonic Dominant Position totaling three informants, Negotiated Position totaling two informants and Oppositional Position totaling one informant. The receptions conveyed by the informants are based on a fairly critical mindset and based on existing realities, experiences and also the environmental conditions around the informants.
