Abstract

Pendidikan harus diberikan secara merata untuk seluruh masyarakat, baik non disabilitas maupun bagi penyandang disabilitas. Saat ini di Indonesia terjadi banyak ketimpangan pendidikan, hampir disetiap jenjang pendidikan antara penduduk penyandang disabilitas dan non disabilitas, maka keharusan untuk fasilitas pendidikan inklusif maupun khusus disabilitas tertentu yang memenuhi standart dan memadai sangatlah diperlukan untuk menunjang pengembangan sumber daya manusia. Khususnya di Kabupaten Mojokerto, masih minimnya sekolah untuk tuna netra maupun tuna grahita sehingga banyak dari penderita tidak menempuh pendidikan karena tidak adanya sarana pendidikan khusus penderita didaerahnya maupun akses pendidikan yang jauh dan tidak dapat dijangkau. Saat ini angka peserta didik Tuna netra dan grahita sangat minim yang berbanding terbalik dengan jumlah penderita tuna netra dan grahita di Kabupaten mojokerto. Selain itu, belum memadainya sarana maupun prasarana sekolah luar biasa dikabupaten mojokerto yang mewadahi kebutuhan pendidikan bagi penderita. Oleh karena itu, fasilitas pendidikan ini dirancang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tuna netra maupun tuna grahita di Mojokerto dengan melalui beberapa pertimbangan dan pendekatan arsitektur perilaku sehingga dapat memberikan kenyamanan, keamanan, kemudahan, dan dapat meningkatkan potensi bagi masing masing penyandang tuna netra maupun tuna grahita. Untuk menciptakan hal itu, maka terdapat banyak pertimbangan dari segi ukuran, aksesibilitas, bentuk, penataan furniture, zonasi, warna, penataan lahan maupun lainnya yang diambil dari beberapa literature, survey dan observasi, dan data data pedoman yang diimplementasikan pada desain perancangan fasilitas pendidikan bagi penyandang Tuna Netra dan Tuna Grahita di Kabupaten Mojokerto ini.
