Abstract

Salah satu kesenian yang ada di Indonesia adalah batik, dimana batik itu sendiri sudah diakui oleh The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) dan pada tanggal 2 oktober 2009 telah ditetapkan batik sebagai warisan kebudayaan yang berasal di Indonesia. Salah satu contoh makna dari batik gedog ini bisa dijadikan dasar Menggunakan motif-motif tersebut sebagai ide bentuk, Karya tersebut tidak hanya dilihat dan digunakan sebagai elemen pendukung dalam desain. Penelitian ini memperkenalkan beberapa ciri khas motif batik gedog yang dapat menginspirasi dalam merancang secara fisik dan non fisik. Jika dilihat dari desain fisiknya menggambarkan motif batik Gedog yang ikonik, dan dari segi non fisik tersebut mengandung makna akan batik gedog. Arsitektur kontemporer merupakan suatu bentuk karya arsitektur yang sedang terjadi di masa sekarang. Konnemann. Arsitektur Kontemporer adalah suatu gaya arsitektur yang bertujuan untuk mengekspresikan suatu gaya arsitektur, berusaha menciptakan suatu keadaan yang nyata-terpisah dari suatu komunitas yang tidak seragam. Ciri dan prinsip arsitektur kontemporer menurut Ogin Schirmbeck (Schirmbeck, 1988) memiliki prinsip sebagai berikut, Bangunan yang kokoh, Gubahan yang ekspresif dan dinamis, Konsep ruang terkesan terbuka, Harmonisasi ruangan yang menyatu dengan ruang luar, Memiliki fasad transparan, Kenyamanan Hakiki, Eksplorasi elemen lansekap area yang berstruktur. Motif batik gedog memiliki beragam arti dan keunikan sendiri dimana batik gedog ini salah satu batik yang masih mempertahankan garutan kunonya. Berbagai karakter yang terdapat di dalam motif batik Gedog dapat digunakan sebagai acuan dalam merancang desain.
