Abstract

Pada suatu instansi pemerintah public relation memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam menentukan kelayakan informasi yang akan di sampaikan kepada publik. Fungsi utama public relation dalam instansi pemerintah untuk menciptakan kepercayaan publik yang dapat membangun, menjaga dan mempertahankan citra positif terhadap pemerintahan. Strategi public relation dalam melakukan kegiatan untuk membangun dan mengembangkan reputasi yang baik diperlukan branding sebagai identitas pemerintahan dalam bentuk pelayanan publik. Dinas Perhubungan Provinsi Jawa Timur yang bergerak pada layanan transportasi umum dalam menaungi Trans Jatim sebagai bus antar kota. Public relation yang berperan dalam membranding layanan Trans Jatim dalam tahap sebelum dan sesudah operasional sebagai transportasi umum antar kota yang memiliki fasilitas memadai di tengah-tengah keberadaan transportasi umum lainnya. Menggunakan teori Two Way Asymmetric dengan peran sebagai public relation pemerintah dalam mencapai tujuan organisasi. Media yang digunakan juga dapat diakses oleh semua kalangan mulai dari instagram, twitter dan youtube. Strategi yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan komunikasi two way-asymmetric dalam menghadapi publik saat ini melakukan interaksi kepada pihak eksternal dalam operasional Trans Jatim
