Abstract

This research is aimed to understand and obtain empirical data of correlation between organizational citizenship behaviour (X) and performance of employees (Y) from employee production of CV SMP Surabaya. Performance of employees is the result of employees’ work in performing a duty based on the responsibility given by the company to reach the goals of the company. The result is reflected from positive behaviour or attitude of employees to reach the goal of the organization. This positive behaviour outside the duty and responsibility as an employee in an organization is known as organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB). OCB is a behaviour emerged by employee outside the duty and responsibility, which is done voluntarily, without compulsion, and is able to give contribution toward organization effectiveness. The subject of this research is all of the employee production of CV SMP Surabaya which amounts to 55 respondents. The data of performance of employees variable is taken from the report of the company, while OCB variable is taken from scale ranked based on Likert scale. The data analysis is done by utilizing rank-order correlation technique of Rho-Spearman using IBM SPSS program version 20 for Windows. The result shows that there is no significant correlation between organizational citizenship behaviour and performance of employees. The result of data analysis calculation shows the value of the correlation coefficient rxy = 0,055 with significance level (p) = 0,693.
