Abstract

In every year, the number of online media in Indonesia are increasing. As many as 43.300 online media out of a total of 47.000 media in Indonesia. Online media will certainly compete to present interesting news so that it can attract many readers. Competition in the online media industry cannot be separated from sustainability media. Online media will continue to look for ways to survive in increasingly strict competition. The way that is usually taken by online media is by innovating a source of income to be able to support their media. As a new online media, harian.disway.id was able to survive from the time of the Covid-19 pandemic to the present. This study aims to find out how the strategy for managing harian.disway.id news content is in dealing with online media competition which is analyzed using POAC management from a media economic perspective. The research method use is qualitative with the type of case study research. The results of the study show that at the planning stage, harian.disway.id creates news content with analysis and feature styles, creates superior news content that has been adjusted to the target audience while implementing strategies to gain profits, makes provitions of writing and consider news content to be published. Organizing namely the division of labor is carried out by the Editor in Chief and Deputy Editor in Chief and the English proficiency is mandatory for the editorial team. Actuating is carrying out the process of creating news content. Controlling namely evaluating the news content that is created. Keywords: strategy, news content management, competition, online media
