Abstract

Social media, one of which is Instagram, is media that is widely used by all levels of society, and so are the many impacts resulting from the use of Instagram social media. There are positive and negative impacts, depending on how someone uses and utilizes Instagram. With the various features provided by Instagram, it is made so that more and more we cannot be separated from these social media applications. And as if made feel at home with these features. Of the many problems that are often encountered, namely the widespread use of Instagram by young people which also has an impact on the loss of morals and ethics. Ethics is a characteristic and tradition that must be maintained and instilled in young souls to produce good and advanced generations. In this study using quantitative methods with correlation analysis where this research leads to a relationship or correlation with an object. Research is presented using statistical data to find out the significant results of a study. The results of this study say that there is a “relationship between the use of Instagram and communication ethics within the family at Kalisari Damen” with a strong significance, which produces negative data on ethics, namely the lack of ethics towards parents and those around them. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between the use of Instagram and ethics. It is hoped that this research will have a positive impact on young people and parents so that they guide their children, or supervise their children to always teach good things, especially focusing on the ethics and morals of a child. In order to produce good young people for the nation, and maintain their good name or self-image in the future or in the future. That the name Instagram will never die if it doesn't start from ourselves, to manage and how smart we are to use Instagram in accordance with its portion without exaggerating and reducing or eliminating the sense of tradition, ethics and caring for those around us.
