Abstract

This study discusses the perceptions of communication science students class of 2019 at the University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya. In particular, students who are majoring in new media and often pay attention to the user interface on Tirto's online media. The scope of this research is communication science students class of 2019 who are majoring in new media and often pay attention to the user interface on Tirto's online media. Using a qualitative descriptive research method, with the type of case study research, source triangulation as data validity, and using data collection techniques by interview. The results obtained are that researchers can find out how the perceptions of communication science students class of 2019 are taking specialization in new media and often pay attention to the user interface on Tirto's online media. One of them is that researchers can find out that the screen display in the form of the dark mode feature is the one that attracts the most attention and is the one most remembered by the interviewees. The conclusion in this study is that researchers can understand what the perceptions of 2019 students of communication science are like regarding the user interface in Tirto's online media.
