Abstract

Public relations in the current era is needed, one of which is a condition for the survival of an organization. Public relations is not only aimed at persuading the public or simply providing information about the organization, but public relations is also used as a bridge to build relationships with the public. Wisma Jerman is a German delegation that focuses on its three pillars, namely the economy, language and culture. In introducing German culture, of course, Wisma Jerman needs public relations. The purpose of this research is to find out how Wisma Jerman implements the four characteristics of the two -ways symmetrical model in building relationships with the public with the output of increasing people's German cultural knowledge. The use of the two-way symmetric model itself is very suitable and ideal for public relations practitioners in building relationships with their publics to create mutual understanding, in which this model focuses on benefiting both parties, namely the organization and the public, through reciprocal two-way communication. This study uses a qualitative research method in which interviews, observations, and documentation are used to obtain data. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative and the theory used is excellence theory. The resource persons in this study were Mr. Firman as an internal source from Wisma Germany, and there were Ms. Huda, Mr. Alvin, Ms. Karina, and Mr. Iyan as external resource persons who had participated in events held by Wisma Germany. From the results of the research above, it can be concluded that Wisma Jerman has implemented four characteristics of the two - ways symmetrical model with the result that there are high-intensity events at Wisma Jerman, for the self-evaluation phase Wisma Jerman focuses on each member who contributes and must give advice or criticism and don't forget suggestions or criticism from the public which will also greatly help the continuity of Wisma Jerman in the future.
