Abstract

Kemacetan lalu lintas dari hari demi hari mengalami peningkatan. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan banyaknya kendaraan bermotor dan ketidakpatuhan pengendara kendaraan bermotor terhadap peraturan lalu lintas yang berlaku. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kepatuhan pengendara kendaraan bermotor terhadap peraturan lalu lintas adalah kontrol diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kontrol diri dengan kepatuhan pengendara kendaraan bermotor terhadap peraturan lalu lintas. Pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik non probability sampling secara accidental sampling. Penelitian ini melibatkan sebanyak 100 pengendara kendaraan bermotor. Hasil penelitian melalui uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment menunjukkan bahwa nilai rxy = 0,741 dengan signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,01). Artinya terdapat hubungan positif yang sangat signifikan antara kontrol diri dengan kepatuhan pengendara kendaraan bermotor terhadap peraturan lalu lintas. Sehingga, semakin tinggi kontrol diri pengendara kendaraan bermotor maka semakin tinggi kepatuhan pengendara kendaraan bermotor terhadap peraturan lalu lintas, begitupun sebaliknya. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, maka hipotesis dinyatakan terbukti atau dapat diterima.
