Abstract

UKM "Mekar Handcraft" is a small and medium business that produces woven bags. 80 pcs of woven bags are produced every day. The process of making woven bags is by cutting, woven, and installing handles. The process of cutting using wood that is stuck with nails has problems when the winding is thicker, the difference in length produced will be more and more and also when the stretching is too long it will cause the raw material to become convoluted which results in damage. Based on these constraints, a roll tool was designed that was able to speed up the cutting process, but using this roll tool required quite a long time to set up the roll stretching tool, because there were several parts that were not suitable. Thus an innovation was made to the roll stretching tool to overcome the obstacles that occurred in the old roll stretching tool. The roll stretching tool after the innovation has been carried out can work even easier and faster. Innovations were made on the dimensions of the tool size, the shape of the raw material container, threads, and also the addition of sizes and clamps on the stretch. Streaping cutting process with a total of 3,200 strands using a roll streaping tool before the innovation takes 12516 seconds and after the innovation is carried out the total time required is 8826 seconds, so the roll streaping tool is able to speed up the cutting process by 3690 seconds.
