Abstract

Major is one of the important parts when going to pursue higher education. This is because the major itself will focus each student on the field of study that will be engaged in the lecture process so that it can be useful and can be applied after the student graduates from college. In choosing a major, of course, many factors must be considered so that it is not the wrong major which can result in loss of learning motivation, obstacles in achieving graduation, and so on so as not to get maximum results. By realizing the importance of choosing a major, the authors conducted research to help students and students choose a major by taking into account other factors such as age, gender, year of graduation, and several other factors. The type of research used is a quantitative description using the AHP method as a determinant of major recommendations. In addition, this information system is a web-based application with a strong programming language, namely PHP, and is supported by the Laravel framework. The database used in this information system is MySQL, so it is not impossible that with this basis a web-based information system application will be produced to support company performance and can facilitate and optimize business processes at the company.
